Cycling & Triathlon
Alpe d’Huez is a mecca for Cycling and hosts several high profile events from La Marmotte, Tour de France and gaining in popularity the EDF Alpe d’Huez Triathlon. In addition to the fantastic cycling, you can enjoy recovery sessions in the impressive sports complex, with swmming pools, spa, and gym for conditioning and strengthening.
La Marmotte
La Marmotte is a one-day cyclosportive event in France, utilising some of the climbs used in the Tour de France.
The route is 174 km (108 mi) long and features more than 5180 metres of climbing. The event goes over the Col du Glandon, Col du Telegraphe, Col du Galibier and finishes at the top of one the most famous Tour de France climbs, Alpe d'Huez.
Alpe d’Huzes
On the 9th of June, approximately 3,000 Dutch cyclists climb the famous road between Bourg d’Oisans and Alpe d’Huez as many time as they can in one day. Sometimes reaching 7 or 8 times in a day.
The event is organized to raise money for the KWF, a Dutch Cancer Society and this year raised 10 millions Euros.
Traithlon
Sunday, July the 25th at 4pm. For its first edition, our new event should welcome around 300 duathletes, with in particular the national Triathlon team of the Netherlands.
The event is becoming more and more international, 27 different nationalities gathered, with this year 3 Chinese runners. There’ll be a total parity between the French and foreign runners. 50/50, the French might not be the most popular language in the village.
Recovery / Training Facilities
Tone and strengthen specific muscle groups using free weights as well as our "Precor" fitness workout machines.
Cardio-training
Excellent cardio vascular machines to help build endurance and. There are several different types of machines adapted to your needs: bikes, treadmills, elliptical bikes, and rowing machines.
Swimming Pools
Indoor and outdoor pools are available for lane swimming as well relaxing spa facilities.
Clubhotel Vallee Blanche 3*
Our welcoming and spacious hotel is in an outstanding location, 2 minute walk from the sports complex and great views of the La Marmotte route. The hotel has 41 rooms, with rooms from singles up to 4 sharing. All of the rooms are en suite with either a bath or shower, hair dryer and most have a balcony with impressive views to the south.
