Salzburger Sportwelt

This extensive ski area, part of the Ski Amade region, comprises ten attractive resorts all with great amenities groups skiing this region. We feature five: Wagrain, which is connected to Flachau and St Johann in Pongau/Alpendorf; the interlinked resorts of Radstadt and Altenmarkt; Kleinarl, from where Flachauwinkel and Zauchensee can easily be reached and finally Eben, which has its own small ski area in the village, and from where the rest of the Salzburger Sportwelt can be accessed in minutes. Wagrain and Zauchensee offer great late season skiing.

Village Information
Two Austrian ski champions hail from the Salzburger Sportwelt. Hermann Maier comes from Flachau. With 54 World Cup victories he is the second most successful racer in the history of the World Cup. Michael Walchhofer, the current men’s downhill World Champion, learned to ski in Zauchensee where he and his family still live.

The world cup venue of Zauchensee is close to Altenmarkt and offers snow sure doorstep skiing. Limited amenities are available in Zauchensee, but Altenmarkt has a good selection of shops and the new thermal indoor swimming pool.

Ski passes automatically covers the entire Amadé Ski Region comprising the Hochkönig, Gasteinertal, Grossarl, Salzburger Sportwelt and Schladming-Tauern-Dachstein ski areas: 270 lifts and 860km of piste.
