The Resort
www.laclusaz.com
The beautiful alpine resort of La Clusaz is one of the oldest ski resorts in the French Alps. Situated only 30km from Annecy, La Clusaz continues to attract keen skiers every year with it’s sought after combination of French charm and great skiing.
Particularly well-suited to beginners and intermediates, the resort offers 132km of slopes spread over 5 mountains and plenty of après ski options.
Skiing and Snowboarding
There is some wonderful skiing on the local slopes surrounding La Clusaz and the yearly investment in snowmaking facilities ensure good snow coverage throughout the season. The Beauregard gondola leads to an ideal range of pistes for beginners, with many long, wide green runs leading back down into the village. On La Croix Fry and La Balme (2500m) there are some steeper red runs to challenge more adventurous intermediates.
The most challenging skiing can be found on La Balme - why not try the steep black ‘Vraille’ run or alternatively the ‘Noire’ on the Beauregard. There is a popular snow park in La Clusaz where snowboarders can play to their heart’s content on half-pipes, tables and rails. |
