European Skiing at it’s best in Serre Chevalier
Treat yourself not only to high-altitude skiing but a trip to the highest town in Europe with a visit to the town of Briançon.
Serre Chevalier lies in the Southern French Alps, close to the Italian border. The ski area rises above the villages of Chantemerle, Villeneuve and Monetier.
Skiing and Snowboarding
Serre Chevalier encompasses over a dozen villages and hamlets dotted along the Guisane Valley. Offering over 250kms of skiable piste, anyone from beginners to experts will appreciate the vast array of terrain set amongst the pine-pitted scenery.
With wide nursery slopes and excellent ski schools, Serre Chevalier offers newbies the perfect introduction to winter sports within a truly picturesque location.
Villeneuve’s skiing reaches 2659m and offers excellent green runs for beginners in the area above our Hotel Fréjus, whilst the terrain at Chantemerle and Monétier-les-Bains is more suited to advanced skiers seeking a greater challenge. Chantemerle allows thrill seekers the chance to try out Olympic black runs and with the area links to Monétier-les-Bains at various junctures, red run hunters can also join the more advanced skiing at Monetier.
Whether you ski or snowboard, the Alpage sector offers up the chance to get big air with natural half-pipes and all the bumps you’d expect from a top snowpark. With lift passes covering the whole Grand Serre Chevalier area you’re guaranteed a memorable ski experience in ‘Serre Che’.
